Hi, everybody. I’m Coach Bill Hart, and I’m an Executive Coach with Building Champions. And I am excited that you are with us for this Virtual Coaching Tip series. If you like, what you see, please like down below and hit subscribe. And I might even ask you to share this one because there’s probably somebody on your team or somebody you know that will benefit from this.

I’ve sat in this chair for 18 years. When people ask me, what’s one of the tips that just makes the biggest difference for people that want to move from “I intend to do this thing” to “I actually did this thing?” And it’s something that Michael Gerber, the author of the E-Myth, short for the Entrepreneurial Myth. The most recent version of that book is the E-Myth Revisited. Something that he calls “On” time. Now that’s like not being late. That’s not what that is.

It is the opposite of “In” time. “In” time being the time that you’re working in your business, doing that thing that you do every single day, every single week to move widgets down the assembly line. For me, those are coaching sessions, right? That’s “In” time. I’m not working on my business, I’m not making my business better, I’m not creating anything new when I’m in a coaching session.

You have that same reality in your job, whatever that is that you do each and every day. So, if you’re like me, if you’re old school, you’ve got your day written out in some fashion, if not, you use Outlook or some form of to-do list. And here’s what I’m going to encourage you to do this week. Like, as you listen to this, don’t just file this away as, “yeah, I think I’d like to do that,” like do this.

So, this Friday, schedule one hour between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. You may ultimately decide a different day and a different time is better for you. But my experience in coaching is that’s the one because we’re sliding into the weekend. It’s not quite the end of the day, but close that generally works well for most people. So, your calendar now will say “On” time from 3:00 to 4:00.

Now what you’re going to go in is you’re going to go in and pull out a couple of the projects, a couple of the tasks that are going to require just a little bit more effort on your part, put them in that section of your calendar so that when you get there, all you have to do now is turn off all your notifications, turn on some music that feeds your soul, and knock out those things that only you can do that you know, you need to get done this week.

Try some “On” time. Let me know how it works out. Again like this if it’s something that you think will help you and please subscribe and share this with somebody that you think it will benefit.

We’ll see you for the next tip.
