Dick Savidge

Executive Coach

Dick Savidge specializes in helping people establish self-leadership in their own lives, transforming their ability to connect and lead high-performing teams.
He has held a variety of senior leadership positions within large and small organizations. Dick works with senior leaders to help them unpack their gifting, discern their purpose, and live with a sense of adventure and meaning.

Prior to joining the Building Champions coaching team in 2013, Dick served in the areas of counseling, non-profit, and outdoor education. His first job after college graduation was a leadership staff position at Outward Bound, an outdoor education program for youth and adults. This position was key in forming his life mantra that great learning occurs outside of the comfort zone. His experience in outdoor education developed his understanding of how exploration deeply influences mindset, producing courage and propelling risk towards achievable goals. Dick later opened a marriage and family therapy practice for six years in Denver, Colorado, eventually transferring the use of his skills and training within a director role at a community church.

Dick believes that to truly live, one must choose adventure, which he defines as the intersection of fear and excitement. With the view that adventure facilitates introspection, Dick considers it to be a vital and useful tool in building self-leadership. He seeks to help other leaders establish self-leadership in their own lives first and then guides them as they guide their teams.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio, and a Masters of Theology & Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Dick and his wife live in Breckenridge, Colorado where they can frequently be found skiing, fly-fishing, camping, hiking, and biking. They have two grown sons.

“Dick is one of the few guys who gets it when it comes to integrating the spiritual and the physical realities of our daily walk. His business savvy is spot on and helping in team building is a huge asset. I can honestly recommend Dick to anyone who is facing either career choices, life decisions or is simply looking to dig deeper and flush out those nuggets [of greatness] within us.”
